My own Soldering Protection tool.

My creation :)

So as you can see from the picture, I made a small protection tool for my soldering job from a broken Power supply. If you want to do this, make sure it's an ATX format because smaller PSU's don't work quiet well and the soldering pen won't fit inside.

Steps:

1. Disassemble the Power supply, remove everything including the board, wires, but keep the screws. (I also kept the board and wires for further projects.)

2.  De-solder the Fan. (or cut the wires for ease.)

3. Attach the fan to the outer holes of the case and screw it. I broke one of the fan screw holes during this process, so tighten them in X format. (Make sure the direction is intake ,to suck the air towards the PSU contraption.)

4.  For safety, add some filter or cloth in the holes that the air will come out. Note that solder smoke can cause cancer. This is a very important step.

5. Find a hole to put out the fan wires from it, make sure it has no contact with the soldering pen. Check couple of times.

6. Get yourself a 12V adapter. PC fans work in the range of 5V to 12V so even a smartphone charger is fine. Check the polarity of the fan as well, red wire is positive and black wire is negative.

7. Enjoy, you now have a protection for your solder, you put it in the holes where the power supply wires used to come out. So you won't burn anything and you keep it safe.
While soldering you can turn on the fan, it can suck the air in and prevent cancer.

Why they are so many rumors about smartphone battery?

Image result for smartphone battery

There are so many rumors about smartphone batteries, for example, some say that charging from 0% to 100% will improve battery life but others disagree. Fast charge is good for battery health, others say no it will damage the battery.

Reasons:
  • Long-Term consequences is hard to measure
  • Usage types
  • Technology evolution
  • Different battery types
  • Hundreds of manufactures

Long-term effects:

Obviously it is hard to measure a 2 to 3 year period of battery life, measuring each cycle, discharge rate, charging rate and etc...  Requires time and patience and it is often expensive.

Different usage types:

People don't use phones equally, A gamer drains the battery in 3 hours while an average user uses the same device for days and the list goes on...
It is not possible to measure each type of usage and their effect on battery health, at least with current technology.

Technology evoloution:

Imagine a company spent time and effort to know the good & bad about a batteries health. While the measuring is done. A new type of battery has already hit the market, so the measurement would be useless and they should redo it for the new battery type.

Battery types :

We have different types of battery. Li-Po, Li-ion and etc....
Each have different properties but this one is easy to tackle because 90% of manufactures use Li-Po and Li-ion.

Tons of manufactures:

There are tons of battery manufactures for smartphones, each company in smartphone, Laptop and tablet industry has it's own battery lab, SAMSUNG, Xiaomi, Dell, Apple, HP, HUAWEI, Sony etc...

What we know for now:

Research centers have some information in hand now, including:
  • Do not discharge your phone to the max, charge it when you get the charge warning.
  • Charge to 100% every month to ensure your unused parts of the battery get a refresh. Not recommended to charge to 100% in every single time.
  • Use latest fast charge platform, each new version add optimizations for security and health of the battery. for example Fast charge 4+ added more heat control which is a great factor.
  • Use certified charger, don't use a 5$ charger for a 500$ phone.
  • Remove bulky casing when charging, to make the battery nice and cool.

My thoughts of Google+

Image result for Google plus

As you know Google plus is shutting down in April 2019, I had some experience with it, though I never enjoyed it in a nutshell.
Google keeps failing in creating a major, reliable social media, if you can see the number of attempts this big company has made. Google Allo, Google hangouts, Google talk and now google plus.
You might think that well, I still use some of those but you can't regret the fact that you use Whatsapp, Instagram, Twitter more than Google services.
Me as a user of Google plus was not very sure what type of environment was google plus being used in and what is the purpose of it? I used it to get some news and learn German phrases which was posted by an account everyday. It wasn't perfect but it did the job quiet well.
several reasons make a platform successful.
  • Security
  • Creativity (some extra function to compete with others)
  • Developer support
  • Cross-platform
  • Support

Security:

User data leaks from the company caused it to lose the first and most important parameter of a social media platform.
Google defiantly lost some users upon the report of the leakage, so I think the decision of google was right to leave in glory instead of waiting for the users to pull out continuously and causing the name of Google to be ruined in the thoughts of people.

Creativity (extra-functionality):

If you do things as others do, you can never be a successor, you should do some extra-functionality to attract users to your social media. A good simple example would be emojis and stickers. The creativity has no limit and it is dependent to the company.
Google plus wasn't very creative in this era, Facebook always made headlines for Artificial intelligence, Hardware devices and etc. So they pulled users to their company. (Though they are popular for data leakage as well 😃 )

Developer support:

I can't deny that Google's developer support is good, they introduce you the API, upload tutorials, and most importantly, creating forums.
Developers should make money from their development which headline number 1 caused the users to migrate to other platforms and developers are left with less revenue. That's why the would prefer a better option like instagram and Twitter.

Cross-platform:

Like the previous headline, Google provided a good cross-platform options. Including Android, IOS, Web etc...

Support:

The support was limited to forums and big companies don't provide good supports due to the high number of users compared to new, small platforms in this era. Google was pretty equal to others in this section too. Not very high, not very low.

My experience with fake samsung galaxy S9+

Image result for samsung galaxy s9+ fake

I recently reached to a website which had great deals and by great, I mean so good to be true. The whole galaxy s9+ with original box, new and accessories just for 90$ . Website link

When I got the package the delivery company was a third party company, so you couldn't complain about the device, because they are not responsible.
The box is nearly identical as the original box, with seal and everything.

in the box we get:
  • fake AKG headphones.
  • fake charger and cable.
  • a silicone case.
  •  sim card pin.
  • The phone itself.

Headphones:

As I said they where a fake AKG headphones that where manufactured in Vietnam, the sound quality was very poor compared to the original ones but I must admit, it is hard to differentiate between them if you haven't tried both.Volume down button was broken, only Play/Pause, volume up buttons worked.

Charger:

You start to see the difference here, there is no fast charge logo, the phone takes ages to charge and the USB-C cable is like a rubber. has no solid feeling near the port. bends easily.

Sim Card pin:

It was very garbage, I wasn't sure if it was metal even, there were plastic chunks covering all around it like a piece of dust, and it got bent with a tiny force.

The phone itself:

I installed CPU-z application which gave me all the information I needed. Here are the real specs.
  • MediaTEK SoC, MT6580, a low performance processor which Is even worse than the budget line of HTC products. like the desire series.
  • 2 GB of RAM, most of it is taken up by the OS, so you are only left with 900 MB of RAM.
  • 8 gigabytes of storage.
  •  Android lollipop (5)
  • A very dim TN panel screen which is a very bad choice. I had an HTC desire device (which costs 10$ more and has IPS screen)
  • USB-C with no support for OTG, obviously they just added an adapter over the micro-USB
  • Headphone jack.
  • Plastic body, just ionized aluminum over it.
  •  Fingerprint button. it is essentially a button unlocks with every finger and conductive materials.
  • No Heart rate and other sensors, only the fundamental ones.
  • Camera is very noisy, the dual camera setup is fake, The pictures are barely usable. I'll upload samples later on.
  • Battery is OK, it holds up well but expect it to jump from 50% to 10%. It has a percentage error involved in the software.
  • The IMEI number was not registered, so it is going to be easy to get blacklisted by ISP's.
  •

Software:

The mobile runs a cloned touchwiz which is very buggy, the launcher crashes regularly but I got it fixed with a new launcher.
The developer settings is unlocked out of the box and there aren't much of a custom ROM's for this fake device.

Conclusion:

I do not recommend this device, I got it out with myself to show it to friends and see if they would know that this is a fake device, most of them did notice it in a first glance, so it is not a good device for look as well, it has random texts like Copyrights and other random License codes on the back.
The phones processor makes it unusable as a daily driver, it lags between pages and took 3 seconds just to open Settings app.
I wouldn't know why would anyone purchase this phone if you want a budget device my recommendations would be Xiaomi, HTC and Huawei. You get a decent customer support along with a better specs for the same price.

This is the customer support I got upon the errors. The guy blocked me totally and never answered back.

Gold spark Sp-991 20,000 mAh power bank review

I bought this power bank from Awok.com (UAE internet store) and I want to discuss about it, The details are:

Price: 39 DHS or $11
Capacity: 20,000 mAh
Input: 5V/1A
Output: 5V/1 & 2 A
Solar charge: 5V/200 mAh

Info written on power bank
Capacity check: I checked the capacity and it was only 5000 mAh, because it charged my device 2 times.(It had also an emergency power for light which worked for 1 hr If only used the torch.)
Solar panel: I put it on sun light for charge, it charged 20% pretty well in 7 days in direct sunlight(compared to other one's) how ever the solar panel is only for putting the battery awake. So it's not meant for charging.
Protection against fall: I throw it twice from 2 meter on the ground but nothing happened. The body was quiet scratched though but still it was working.
The lamp: It was very outstanding, It was on for 24 hrs for 3 days on full charge, and it was enough to light a 10 square land. It is very good for emergency situations, if you charge it with solar and put it on sun light, it would work for 24 hrs/4 days.
Mini LED: It also had a small blue LED for other usages, it had a very low light but still quiet good in the fully dark place, it was only enough to wake up at night and go to the kitchen for some water and waking up no body.
Charging: at 700 mAh charge it charged my device (which is 2000 mAh) twice, and when the capacity is full on 1 mAh it did it in 1 and half hours, it was quiet good to charge your device with it.
Weight: nearly 400 g, it was quiet heavy for a 5000 mAh power bank.

Summery:
The company that makes these is from china and of course they are cheating in building these, but if you look at the price, I will find it quiet good to have it.
This power bank is good only for using it's light and charging with solar panel , but charging a device is't quiet good for this power bank, what loved from this power bank was it's light, Solar panel, LED torch, the remaining is pure garbage.
DO NOT charge your phone with this powerbank it has a negative effect on the battery health.

Tips for radio

Radio may sound a bit old but it is popular around the world, especially when now a days cars are equipped with it! Currently satellites, local, and global channel's and signal's provide's us with radio, local channel's which is "FM" and global channel's which are "AM"
In some cases, radio won't work properly for you:

  •   Bad direction: you might think that radio has nothing in common with direction, but unlike it, it is one of the most important thing's you should know, rotate the radio until you find the best sound quality.
  • High voltage electricity: the electrical cables or devices avoids the radio's antenna to detect signals. This is why sometimes your car's radio fails for a moment to get signal's, especially when you move under the electrical cables.
  • Charging: charging the radio when you want to use it is a bad idea, you will only get wired sounds, so charge it then you can use it.
  • Low signal: If your house has low window's, or your location is at the signal's blind spot, try to use "AM" instead, or put the radio in high altitude.
  • Antenna break: In this case you should put something metal instead of your radio's antenna, for example you can use an aluminum foil, or a wire, even your pin could work!

  •   Turn off your mobile phone or any device with wireless access, mobile's radio signals are bad for heart and brain. (wifi, and sim card signal's.) If you can't or you need it for alarm put it some where safe or turn on "Airplane mode"
  • Unplug or turn the switch off for any electronic device, this beside saving your budget (It cost's a lot in long period.) and increase's battery and the device's life.

(Remember rule 1 & 2)
  • Don't forget to put your electronics some where safe, when you wake up at night for a glass of water or going to toilet, you may not see your device and break it accidentally.
  • If using AC, put it turn it off or put a timer for it, this save's money and beside's your body need's a 28 degree temperature for a relaxing sleep.

Android or IOS? | Which is the best

Mobile phones now have a wide range of usage in life, not just for calling or texting, you can do various type of jobs with your phone.
There are 2 popular operating systems for phone, one of them is android and the other one is IOS, IOS is used in Apple devices while android isn't just limited with one company. Samsung, Huawei, HTC, Motorola, etc. All of them use an android operating system powered by GOOGLE.
If you want Super security, use IOS, IOS is very secure and limited, so you can't do what you want with them. For example, Bluetooth in IOS can only connect with other IOS systems, you can't download anything you want on the web or other applications, only authorized apps and website are eligible for download.
This makes IOS so secure against malware, virus, spyware etc. You won't have any system failure or apps with a bad codes.
Android is an open source operating system, means you can easily change your device codes, or run ANY app in your device. Downloading content isn't limited. You can easily edit, download, run, install any application or other content in device.
This makes android devices ready for a destination for malware and spyware or even viruses in the other words your system is exposed for anything. No matter good or bad.
Usually editors or creative a creative person buy's an android device, but a person with important file's or the one's that want their file's and identity to be safe, use an IOS operating system, that is why usually celebrity's use IOS devices.
